‘Elequen’ (ella-k-when)  is a canadian Singer/Songwriter, Model, Actress and Writer that is gonna involve you in her last released song “Rock my Body”, wanting to make you repeat and repeat !

Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario and from a single parent home, from a very young age, Elequen knew where her standing would be in life and has spent many hours writing, creating songs and developing her talent.

By the time she reached the age of 12, she already had over 50 songs in her repertoire (a normal kid, you know,  like us that at the age 12 was just wondering how to…convince our parents to buy some hamburgers?)!

She work with professional producers/engineers including: Akeel Henry (credits include Kid Ink, Jeremih, Roy Woods, 11:11), Dave Pensado (Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Usher), Tom Coyne (Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, Adele), Mike Smith (Jhene Aiko, Eminem, Tinashe, Fefe Dobson).

I’m totally addicted to her vibes, amazing songwriting and a melody that wants you to sing out loud and obviously move my body!

Read her amazing interview listening to the new song ” Rock my Body”

What is the story behind ‘Rock My Body’?

E: After taking a break from the studio for about a month and a half over the holidays, my producer and I came back together and it was magical! I think we were making up for lost studio time because Rock My Body came about pretty quickly! The song was written and the final vocals were recorded in the same session.

Share a beauty secret

E: Bathing in Coconut Oil almost every Sunday! Of course, I also bathe as usual but ever since I started having my weekly coconut oil baths my skin has been so much softer. And it’s all natural! Your skin will love you for it.

How can you define your style?

E: I would define my style as classy.

What is empowering for you?

E: Helping others!

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter is a hurricane. Since “Crazy in Love”, the 3rd Destiny’s Child has grown up, had a child, married to one of the most important rappers, became the most powerful couple in world and has showed much more than a body, but an amazing soul and a empowered woman.

Today is Bey BDAY and I want to share with you 21 reasons, she’s a POWERFUL WOMAN!

1 |  A self-described “modern-day feminist”

Beyoncé creates songs that are often characterized by themes of love, relationships, and monogamy, as well as female sexuality and empowerment.

2 |   In 2003, she released her first solo album “Dangerously in Love”, which sold  317k in the first week.

Dangerously in Love (2003), which established her as a solo artist worldwide; it sold 11 million copies, earned five Grammy Awards and featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”.

3 |  She has won 20 Grammys

She has won 20 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award’s history. The Recording Industry Association of America recognized her as the Top Certified Artist in America during the 2000s decade.

4 |  She Wants You To Get The Ring

Cuz if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it

5 | Time listed her among the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013 and 2014.

6 | Forbes magazine also listed her as the most powerful female musician of 2015.

7 | She’s the first black singer to appear on the September cover of US Vogue

She has appeared on the cover before – twice, in fact. But it’s only the third time a black woman has covered the September issue and gracing a September issue is, as everybody knows, something a bit special. The September issue of US Vogue is the most important magazine of the fashion calendar, a whopper that often comes in a over 900 pages long, and had its own documentary in 2009. So a pretty big deal even by Knowles’ infamously high standards, especially when you know that she is the first ever black female singer to do this. She looks fabulous, of course – in Marc Jacobs sequins and frills with her hair wet.

8 | In the movie Dreamgirls, she was Diana Ross

9 | And also played Etta James in “Cadillac Records”

10 |And  she donated her entire paycheck into a rehabilitation center for heroin addicts

11 | She has her own movie “Life Is But a Dream”

“I always battle with: How much do I reveal about myself? How do I keep my humility? How do I keep my spirit and the reality? And how do I continue to be generous to — to my fans and to my craft? And how do I stay current? But how do I stay soulful? And it is the battle of my life. ”

12 | She has an alter ego “I am… Sasha Fierce”

“When I walk into a stage I’m able to come out of my shell and be as fabulous and over the top and strong and powerful as I want to be.”

13 | She’s married with Jay-Z, and they’re the most powerful couple

14 | Her Blue Ivy is one of the cutest girl in world

15 | She sang “At Last” for Michelle and Barack Obama dance, the dance of the American president possession

16 | The First Women as star singer at  Glastonbury Festival

17 | Her “4” album is the “4” is one of the most sold album, for the 4th time.

18| One of the most amazing performances at Superbowl

19 | She released her album “Beyonce” in 2013 and nobody knew it was being produced

20 | She’s the first woman to have 5 most sold albums

21 | She talked about Feminism at the VMAs

“Well, she’s walking through the clouds

with a circus mind

that’s running wild

Butterflies and zebras and moonbeams

and fairy tales

That’s all she ever thinks about”

James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix

Dead Heroine is a band that since you hear the first song you can make that head shake like” yeah, that´s what

I´m talking about”!

The band have the post-hard-core style from LA, but with a touch of Sweden from Moa Henriksson (vocals, guitar) and Canada  from Nate Gignac (guitar) , that are the integral parts that make up Dead Heroine’s sound.

There´s mixed feelings when you listen loud the first album “ELEVEN”. You feel a strongest deepest feeling, motivation and excitement!

Moa´s strong and unique personality shows up on the lyrics, that´s more than a storytelling, it´s a rockstar bleeding her unquestionable talent. As Nate “sings” with hypnotic solos, showing us that those guys know exactly what

they´re doing.

“ELEVEN” (Download the CDstarts with the breathtaking  ” Holding on the Air” with a fierce chorus and melodic chords that mixes the multiple techniques that Moa can do with her voice (and our minds). With sweet and kind tones to rebel ranges that make us be aware about the next tracks.

“Brev to Pappa” is that sticky chorus that you always wanted to sing for someone in life. It made me sing along for few days after I saw the acoustic video and for me it´s my fav song.

When you think that things couldn’t be anymore sophisticated, starts ” If you´re waiting for a sign T” and make you travel for a strong lyric blended with amazing rhythm. That one is already uploaded on my “song-memory-musics-for-life-phases-of-my-brain”. Really, I don´t need more signs.

“Love to fall” finishes the album, sweet, soft and hard, like a sweet goodbye and letting us thinking of what more f*king good musics those guys can do it more.

You can go closer to the edge, you can be strong, you can be real, you can do rock for modern ages without losing the essential fiercely rock´n roll vibe.

I met Moa at Hollywood, CA at Guitar Center (one of the coolest music store ever!) when Gus was buying a Fender Guitar.

The first thing I notice was her tattoos and girlie rockstar style! And than she said “Are you not going to buy nothing for you? You should go to Melrose Av to buy some great shoes!” And I just made a joke “Do you think I’m “that” kind of girl?” and she just answered “I AM that kind of girl!”! That was the beginning of a girls cool stuff talk, I introduced the blog to her and had this on my mind : I have to  interview a real

Cali Rockstar Girl!

Meet Moa Henriksson and her unique personality:

PE: Tell us about your lifestile, what you like to do…

MH: I am surrounded by music 24/7, I am always busy working on new things, wether its practicing a new song, writing a new song, playing live, jamming with the band, working in a guitar shop.. and when I don’t play music I love hanging out with my friends over a drink, but since most of my friends are musicians too we usually discuss music! Its never ending, haha. My other big passion in life is traveling. I love exploring new cultures and discover new ways of living life, and trying local food!

PE: How you define your style?

MH:  Jeans, a cut off t-shirt and tons of bracelets.

PE: A beauty tip?

MH: I try to tell myself I look beautiful every day in the mirror, cause there’s been times where I’ve been feeling really ugly and depressed. If you believe you are truly beautiful that is gonna shine through!

PE: What is IN (about anything in world)

MH: Color! Color makes you happy!

PE: What is OUT? (about anything in world)

MH: Racism growing in Sweden (my home country). I am ashamed!!
